Many states in our nation at one point belonged to Mexico. States like California, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, and even states like Kansas and Utah.

Hispanic culture is rooted in our history. We can see that in way of life in the United States. American history is Hispanic history.

This brings me to my main point. Hispanic Americans, which population in 2022 was over 61 million and represents 18.9 percent of the United States population, has been looked over when it comes to lead roles in shows or movies.

Hollywood has in many ways turned its back on the same people who helped built this nation. News outlets, movie companies, streaming-services must do a better job of including Hispanics in their shows and movies.

They are truly missing out on the financial power that is the Hispanic community.
